John and Joyce Harper arrived in Creemore in 1959 to operate. The Harpers managed this store for 28 years, finally selling it in 1987.
They retired to a home in the hills just outside of Creemore. John was an active member of the Creemore Community. Heavily involved in the Lions Club, he was also a long-term member of the Creemore Fire Brigade and served as Deputy Chief for several years. In their retirement, Joyce and John were very active, maintaining their country property and could often be seen in and around Creemore.
